Is it possible to start this thing without Android device at all ?
I read that it can be used as standalone watch. So far so bad! It keeps asking for device to pair with when I turn it on! So can't use it as a watch!!!!
SmartWatch 2 can work as a standalone watch but you may need to update the firmware in it. If you don't have access to a phone with Android you can update the watch using a PC and Update Service: http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/tools/update%20service/.
When you start the watch it will go to pairing mode but after a while you can cancel it.
