Hi! I'm having some issues with one of Sony's SmarTag NT3. In this case the White NT3 when using it with my Xperia Z1. I proceed to explain what are these problems.
The White Tag comes already named "SONY" with a Start Action "First touch on SmartTag NT3" to open webpage, in this case Sony's NT3 video on youtube. If a try renaming the event it can stay charging for hours, I have to restart the app in order for it to work again and it opes with its name changed. If I try addying new actions (doesn´t matter whether they're Start or End) I get this message "To ensure that only you can edit the event on this tag, you must associate with a google account. xxxxx@gmail.com" and when I press OK the app seems to charge the changes I made but the I get this screen with no changes made, only one Start Action to open webpage. The only thing the app lets me do is to change that url or delete the event, nothing more.
I've seen in another message that someone managed to make it work by following these instructions:
1. Uninstall all updates on Smart Connect
2. Add an action, doestn't matter wether Start or End, neither which one.
3. Accept the message "To ensure [...]" Once done this he already had one more action in his tag.
4. Delete the Start Action "open web page" and edit as wanted.
But I think he had an different Xperia device and his Smart Connert stock version was an earlier one than the one that comes preinstalled on Xperia Z1 because it doesn't work for me.
So I've had to try Sony Xperia Chat-Support to see if there was an answer to this issue and the've told me that this is how this SmartTag works, you cannot add new actions. That I needed to post a message in the support forum in order to ask for this issue to be fixed in newer updates.
Seems a little bit odd to imagine Sony selling these NT3 by saying "Here they are, 3 SmartTags and as a present a 4th one so you can see a 36 second video advertising a thing you've already bought" but if my agent implied so I'll just wait for that UPDATE to fix this problem.
