Hello everybody,
I recently bought an magnetic charger (DK48) for my Z3C. Today I tried it out and it's charging really slow.
I used the app Ampere to measure it and this are the results:
With 1.5A Sony original cable: 1000mA
With 1.5A Sony original cable and dock: 80mA
With 2A Samsung Tab2 original cable: 900mA
With 2A Samsung Tab2 original cable and dock: 170mA
It shouldn't be that slow. I have read over the Internet that charging the phone in the dock with the phone turned off charges like it should, but haven't tried it out. Nevertheless, I shouldn't need to turn it off to charge it.
Maybe the dock needing 1.8A and the Sony charger giving 1.5A have something to do, but I don't know. And i think that using the Samsung 2A should have solved it
I use dk48 and can't see any problem with time of charging with stock ep800 charger 1500 mA. The label says that 1800mA may in&out
Thanks for the reply Kuba5262. Well, I´ve found some differences between your charger and mine. Do you think I've been scammed?? The differences are highlighted in the picture.
Also, I've read that some people started having charging problems with the dock after Lollipop upgrade.
Maybe you have another version from different manufacturer or product is dedicated to different region. I'm not a specialist and I don't know what means these missing logos. For sure mine dk is newer
There is production date at white label
Yours is 14W31 which means week 31 of 2014
Mine is 15W04 - 4th week 2015
Try to use another charger
Check clarity phone's and docking charging sockets
How is your battery life after charging in dk ?
regards
Oh, I didn't knew that thing about the date. Thanks for the info!
I'm not at home right now so I can't test another charger with the dock or check the dock sockets.
So far battery life has been normal. I spent like 30min surfing the forums and another 10min in Whatsapp and Instagram this morning while on the bus (using 3G) and lost about 10% of the battery. Since that (1 hour and 40min ago) I've only lost 1%
Try software repair after full charge (is without dk charging normal?) you'll find this option in Sony companion
Do you mean how long does it take to charge o how the phone behaves after charging? If it's the first option then it's ok, using the wall adapter the phone charges as it should.
Is repair using pc companion the same as doing a factory reset? Because companion keeps asking me to update to lollipop 5.1 and I don't want to because of all the problems regarding battery life on that version
