SK17i ICS - Data consumtion by the Android OS rises if I swich background data off

When i select "Restrict background data" from the menu of the android "data usage" the data consumption rises too much.

Every time i enable the interrnet or I lose signal with the tower android consumes around 100 kb or more !! and android consumes data 10 times the normal.

Android wasted 22 MEGABYTES of my DATA LIMITED PLAN in a COUPLE OF DAYS because of this, my carrier's data consumption confirmed it,

and if i didn't noticed it would wasted more.

I have no synch data enabled or mail synch. The data consumption goes back to normal -around 3kb each time i enable the internet- when  "Restrict background data" is not enabled, theres a red triangle in the status bar if it's enabled.

If background data is not restricted the phone and it's app's will be able to update themselves with data and new versions. If you have a limited data plan I suggest that you restrict background data to avoid running out of your data subscription.
