Just got my first Sony Xperia L.
Why do we have hangout and messenger which both do the same job; also Album and photos both for storing pics. Why have 2 apps doing the same thing? Or are they different and we do really need them both?
As I said, phone is new, still finding my way round what it can do. Loving it though, esp the great camera!

Hangout and album and photos are pre-installed apps to your phone...you can use any other third party apps that you may like..no need to use them if you dont like...

Yes I understand that but can't understand why there are two apps for photos and two for messaging when one would do and save space. Why duplicate everything? If they are pre-installed I can't delete them to free up space.

you can disable them,they will not start.But album is for photos,movies is practically a gallery but with which you can also play videos.
