Sim not working (2G Network)

i am facing problem in connecting respective 2G network of any SIM in my NEO V. I have tried using 2 or 3 sims, they are working perfectly fine in other handsets but they are not working in NEO V.

Whenever i switch to 2G network and selects the respective network it says "SIM doesnt allow this connection", but it connects to 3G network.

So baiscally 2G isnt working.Even i have updated the software but still no luck.

Please kindly help me in this matter

either there isn't 2G coverage or you need a new SIM card, it happens.

It seems to be something in the baseband. I was facing the same problem in a SK17i with 2.3.4 and it was completely solved with the ICS update (baseband -72, Carrier CLARO, Brazil)

Now I'm facing the problem in a Xperia Play with 2.3.4 gingerbread, baseband -56. Tested a lot of firmwares (with different basebands - 22, 36, 56 and 64) and no one could connect 2G, in any carrier.

The major problem is the loss of signal in some areas, but there are another issues, as the battery draining fast since I'm always in 3G.

Is there any way to try SK17's baseband in Play? Can SE provide a flashable baseband for testing, at least?

Chris

Hi jollz.04.

Are you able to find any solution for this ?? If yes then please let me know.

I am also facing the same issue for my Xperia Neo L. I am only able to connect to the 3G networks. When I tried to connect manually to the 2G Network. It alwayz display error saying that "Selected network .. unavailable".

CM.

I have this same problem on my Xperia S as well.

I had rooted the phone, and was using ICS (Cyanogenmod 9.1.0) for nearly a year, without any problems. I always used to use a widget to switch from 3g network to 2g network, whenever I wasn't using 3g data (I found that this greatly improved battery life).

But suddenly, three days ago, the phone refused to switch to 2g network. It would lose network entirely when I put it into 2g mode, and would only receive 3g signal. This means, whenever 3g signal drops in the area I'm in (I live in India), the phone loses network entirely, instead of switching down to 2g from 3g.

My sim seems to work fine in other phones, and other sims seem to experience the same problem in my phone. Because of this, I used Sony's EMMA tool to restore the official Sony ROM (Jelly Bean 4.1.2) but despite changing the OS, the problem continues.

Is it a problem with the antenna? Can anybody please help with this?
