Hello.
I just bought an sony xperia m2 from a guy.
Whenever i insert my sim card it recognizes it for a few minutes until maybe an hour and then it says that there is no sim card inserted.
The xperia m2 is TELECOM BRANDED, does this have anything to do with my problem?
Thank you in advance
Hi @njazi123,
Welcome to the community.
Does this happen with other SIM cards? Are you able to test another SIM?
Hello CameronT
I have not used other sim cards but i know this one works because i use it in microsoft lumia 535 dual and works perfectly.
Thank you for replying
It could be that the phone its still locked to that carrier, and using other SIM cards won't work, the odd thing is that you don't get a notification requesting the unlock code.
I tried the safe mode and it still doesnt work.
Yeah the is no code nothing at all.
Some times when i enter the sim card i doesnt recognize it at all.
I have to restart the phone a few times untill it accepts the sim card and then when it accepts it after a few minutes it says there is no sim card.
I fount out that it is because of the carrier.
Many say the solution is to install an unbranded firmware.
What should i do?
yes it is cutted exatly for the phone

I think this may be the issue. If your SIM card has been cut down, there may be minor damage to it, causing the phone to be unable to read it correctly.
Ask for a replacement SIM of the correct size from your network carrier and see if it's any better.
I am sorry for my bad english.
I bought the sim card in its size.
I wasnt cut by anything it was already cutted by the carrier i got it from.
The dimmentions are all right.
Oh right. Sorry for the misunderstanding.
It's very strange that it is recognising the SIM and not cancelling it for up to an hour.
I would still recommend trying another SIM as a test but if your are on a different network to the one the phone is branded with, then @uliwooly will be correct here.
There is no official way that I can advise to flash different firmware onto your handset, I'm afraid.
