Silver ring around headphone jack

will my phone become non-water resistent if the ring gone?

I think the phone still is waterproof.

I have  disassembled the Z1. The headphone jack are guled to the midframe tighlty. There is a several millimetres width of circle sticker under the silver ring between the headphone jack and midframe. So the headphone jack should keep waterproof although  the ring lost.

I'd never again buy a Sony phone.. Never ever.. Going back to Samsung. You won't have these silly problems. Today tis the usb flap tomorrow headphone jack ring.. Searching for a ring like it's lord of the rings or something. Overhyped Xperia Z series. I was warned, my bad. Now warning others.

Anyway, that ring has only the decorative sense. So don't worry.

The phone is still water resistant as I have the same situation as the metal ring as came off 2weeks ago. I message sony and they said they can repair it for me but it need to cost so I didn't bother as it is there manufacture fault for not glueing it tight enough or they should of thought about the design for the head jack ring around it. 

It is still water resistant which i am still happy about it as i can go swimming with my friends or txt in the shower for important txt messages or rinse the phone off if i have mud on there from bike riding.
