Hi,
I'm having a related, but slightly different issue with sound modes.
Unlike some, I want to be able to silence the alarms too. It used to be that in 'vibrate' mode, the alarms would be silent (no tones) but would still vibrate. I cannot achieve this anymore.
I have tried setting the 'interruptions' sttings to 'do not interrupt' but the alarm tones still sound. I understand (but disagree) that alarms are always considered as priority interruptions, but if you choose not to be interrupted, they should not sound. If you want to be reminded by priority interruptions, surely you would choose 'allow only priority interruptions.'
The point of having a true "Silent' mode is that you can switch this on when you go into a meeting or the cinema and not have to worry about switching off 17 different apps / settings to make sure your phone doesn't make a noise.
Surely there must be some way of setting a "vibrate only" mode where ALL tones (including alarms) are silenced, but notifications still vibrate, and a truely "Silent" mode where ALL notifications (including alarms) are silenced and do not vibrate. This has been a basic feature of mobile phones since the 1990s! Surely a little embarrasing that arguably the most advanced mobile platform no longer supports this?
If anyone knows how to set these modes with only a small number of 'taps' I'd be grateful if you can tell me how. Even the silent mode widgets don't work anymore, unless anyone has found one? (Don't want to root though).
