Hi, I have more problems with my new Xperia P. The most important is that I have signal problem. WHere I work is inside a factory and here is a poor reception for my network operator. To have signal I need to force network mode on GSM only (2G). On my desk the phone is show 3 bars of signal, but if I try to call it from other phone the voice mail is answering. If I try to call a number it can't make the connection and close the call screen. I still have the old Neo with me and now I'm using it, no problem, same 3 bars of signal but I can be reached or I can make phone call if I need. If I go outside the P is back, can receive and make calls. So, I think that here is a big problem for my P.
The second problem is the battery. It is draining too fast, and I mean that the screen suck a lot of power, even with low bright. Each time when I unlock the phone and use for something the baterry is dropping with 1%/min that is too much. In batterry graph the screen take 50% and is in top of consuption. On my Neo is on 3rd or 4rd place with same usage (even more bright than P). Sony is say that this new White magic screen is low power consumption, but I see the opposite of this.
The last problem with my P is a hardware problem, more exactly the SIM slot is stuck my SIM inside. Was need 30 min of trials with a lot of tools to take out my SIM from the P. Now was need to cut my SIM (the other corner at 45gr) to can remove it. The SIM slot is crash (I think that there must be a spring to push out the SIM). I'll go to service for this.
If the signal problem will not be solved I'll sell the new P and I stay witm my old Neo which is make a good job.
Maybe somebody can give some tips or know how to solve the signal issue.
Thanks.
I suggest that you contact your local support team to have your phone examined and fixed at an repair center. The signal problem might be related to the SIM holder issue.
