should 'support zone' on sony pc companion work for my mix Walkman phone.

I have a Mix Walkman Phone.  I just downloaded Sony PC companion, plugged in my phone and tried to connect my phone, but it would not connect and said it could not find my phone, but on my phone it says 'phone ready to be used with computer'.

My phone keeps on bringing up a message saying 'battery cannot be charged. You must use a Sony Ericsson battery'.  When I went to my local phone shop, the man there confirmed that my battery is a proper Sony phone battery with the right hologram. He said to download Sony PC companion but as I said it does not work, the man in the shop said to update the software on my phone and that would sort the problem out, but the software update does not work becasue it will not recognise my phone.

Help, what do I do???

http://www.sonymobile.com/gb/tools/update-service/ Try using the update service aplication directly, for which the phone needs to be switched off. Just download it to your PC, install it and follow the instructions to run a software update. Hope this helps.

Mix walkman is not supported by PC Companion, kindly follow the reply above and use SUS

Beware, reinstalling phone's software would delete all data on phone memory so backup important stuff

Moreover you need more than 50% battery to perform the repair
