Should I buy Xperia U?

Hi guys, in two days time I might buy a new phone, and I'm planning it to be an Xperia U.

I have read many negative comments and feedbacks about this phone, so I'm a bit worried.

Reading the positive reviews though, it made me crave more for this new phone.

So..should I buy it? I need everyone's advice, and I hope they are not all negative. Thank you! Slightly_smiling_Face

YES !:smileyhappy:

Good things rather great things are : (1) Excellant form and design. (2) Great feather touch screen (3) excellant screen resolution and picture clarity and colors. (3) great inbuilt apps FB timescape etc

(4) attractive LED bar (5) great web browser. (7) 3D view camera app.(8) excellant connectivity

The common problems you can read in this forum such as low volume, dim notification led, signal drop(this surely is temporary issue) etc.

So dont worry and buy it its a great phone !:smileycool:

Some People including myself criticize in this forum because surely sony has not paid attention to software quality while releasing the phone. But again most problems would get solved in august.

This phone is excellent from service , operating, awesome style/looks/design.. I am using this without any problems..

One thing keep in mind, after i getting phone dont try to updating firmware for show up to others that my phone is updated.. most of 85 % users got problem after updating. Inbuild firmware/OS/features is enough for using..

When ICS 4.X (ice creame sandwitch) available for xperia U then you must update your phone from SONY services center..

And remove plastic cover from camera lense.. That's it

In advance welcome to Xperia U family. Winking_Face

Thank you

I would say no. I bought this phone 2 weeks ago. The photos taking with this phone are complete waste. Recording video is a pain. Video (720P) is somewhat like a 240p video with hell lot of pixels. Only 4 GB  of memory is available. After one week the camera key stopped working. I've posted a question about the camera key in this blog. As the above people said the touch screen is very smooth and responsive. Better look for something that can be trusted. Im not at all a satisfied customer. There are lot better phones available out there. I dont want to talk about them in sony's blog. You have to do a thorough research before getting new phones. I wont reccommend to go for the xperia u. Honestly im not satisfied. Looks like an update to ICS for this phone will take for ever. Nexus launched with JB. LOL

There are many bugs in this phone. I suggest you to wait till ics or the next build update. 177 gets released and if at least half of those deadly bugs got fixed, it will really be the best choice.  But I can't say about the customer service of Sony.

Do you think Samsung Galaxy W is better?

Nopes its not. Not upgradable to ICS, same RAM, non dual processor. Just expandable memory is an advantage.

I think so too, plus the screen size

I'm a bit worried about the bugs they keep saying.

Also on the camera, I want to take nice pictures so I hope it is good.

I didnt encounter any bugs as of such. Camera works fine after removing the plastic cover and with the bravia engine.
