Shall I buy Xperia U from Singapore?

Well in local market I am getting the phone for $280. But if I get it imported from singapore I will get it for $200 but now warranty is not valid in India and I won't ship it to Singapore. In simple words with no warranty so shall I buy it from Singapore?

Will I get paid support at Sony Customer Care?

What if there is a H/W issue?

Can I upgrade to ICS manually?

I heard there is a battery issue with this phone. Will getting ICS solve it?

BTW my usage is calling, calling and calling...

I sometimes need camera and hardly listen to songs...

I need to access news on newshunt at night for about 2 hpurs daily...

Is Xperia u good for this?
