SGP511 17.1.1.A.0.402 / KB2917929 required / unable to install

Hi!

I have just received information about 17.1.A.0.402 is ready. Launched PCC, connected tablet. When I select "Update" it says that KB2917929 is required to continue and opens MS Update page.

The problem is that this update is not applicable to my system.

SGP511, Sony Vaio Duo 13 (USB 3.0 ports)

Windows 8.1 Enterprise Update 1, everything up to date

Tablet Z2 with .36 firmware

Any ideas? I don't accept SUS solution. Not going to reinstall everything on the tablet.

PCC message (KB required):

WU message (KB not applicable to this system):

Have you unlocked the bootloader?

Nope. It's a plain, clean Z2 Tablet from Sony store. No firmware alterations performed.

I looked around the web and it seems that there is a bug inside PCC that prevent update on KitKat devices using USB 3.0 port under Windows 8.1. Unfortunately Vaio Duo has only USB 3 ports.

Finally I used Windows 7 based hardware (Dell Vostro V3300 with Windows 7 32-bit Pro, USB 2.0 port) and it updated without issues.

However it is quite funny because Xperia Z1 updated from 4.3 to 4.4.2 (687 fw) and later to 757 using the same Vaio machine, under the same OS, using the same cable without problems.

Plug in a USB 2 hub, the ports will then downgrade to USB 2.

Fine, but it is against Sony's recommendations of using original cable and connect directly to the USB port.

I wouldn't risk bircking my phone or tablet due to compatibility fail of $5 USB hub.
