serious wif-fi problems

I can see that many users have experienced numerous problems with Wi-Fi access since the upgrade.  For the past 3 days, my Xperia P has also been subject to Wi-Fi not connecting properly.

Since purchasing my phone in June 2012, I've not had any problems at all - I've been a happy xperia customer for the most part.

However, there is a serious system problem that Sony must address here.  Why should we, the customer, have to switch our phone on and off every hour (as I am doing currently) to re-access wi-fi?  This is a BASIC requirement of any smartphone, so for it to suddenly stop working is bordering on negligence.

How many hundreds or thousands more customers have to suffer this problem for Sony to accept responsibility and do something about it?

I've been a Sony customer all my life.  Does anyone have any furrher suggestions to remedy this problem???

I fully agree . added to the above I can not turn  WIFI off as I noticed it is also draining my battery in about 4-5 hrs. making my phone almost unusable and constantly charging the batt..

Please fix soon or I will have to return for a refund .

Have you attempted a firmware update since having this problem as their was an update that began rollout late last year that included improvements to wifi.

Did you try any basic solution? Like software repair?

Hi Sam

Yes, I have the most up to date Firmware installed.  I regularly update my phone.

The problem seems to stem from being unable to switch wi-fi off manually; or when you move from one routed location to another.  For example, when at work I am connected to my company's WiFi - but then when I return home my phone no longer automatically connects to my wireless router like it used to up until the .

This also happens vise versa.  It's a real pain having to shut down my phone and restart just to find available wireless networks again!

Why has this started happening to my device?

Any help would be appreciated.

Sam, as this is a know problem within Sony what is actually being done to solve it?

An Xperia device without WiFi working properly is completely redundant, agreed?

When is the next Firmware upgrade? Does this correspond to JellyBean being introduced?

Any (honest) feedback would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

James
