I was playing Ayakashi Omyuroku, Legend of the Cyrptids and Rage of Bahamut, and also using UCCW.
After updating two days ago(or was it yesterday? seems soo long...)
UCCW and some other stupid programs keeps crashing, least problem.
Ayakashi Omyuroku still works, kinda, but the display is all funny. Effects are shown when it should not, covering part of the screen and making it hard to tell what's going on. This is the slightest problem of these.
For LotC, all the other parts of the game is fine, the problem lies in the battle against other players, when we both have 5 critters. I need to keep tapping the screen to load the next frame, whenever anything is happing. when one of us have only 4 critters, things load normally, and smooth.
For RoB, it crashes EVERY SINGLE time if I am lucky enough to tap fast enough to it, the "Boss Fight" animation image forces close the app if it loads.
I am sure that this is the Xperia+ICS problem and not individual apps problems, since I have no problem whatsoever before the update for all of them.
From the LotC and RoB problems, obviously the phone cannot display a certain number of images and frames at the same time, and thus either crashes the app or make it stop running the animation.
I tried reinstalling the update, and it only made me more mad because the backup and restore function of PC companion does almost nothing at all. It does not save the apps settings, not even the apps, I had to reinstall most of my apps and spend a lot of time fixing go launcher for nothing. The reinstall did nothing to help, problem still exist. I was ready to do this when I hit reinstall, but I thought at least the backup can save more things it claimed to have saved, but no, it only crashed my computer twice when I tried to backup, and fail 5 times before I successfully finished the backup, which failed twice when I restore and did pretty much nothing other than duplicating the contact list android automatic backup did for me.
I am quite mad, since both of the games that don't work well are in an event right now,(the only one the worked to a certain extend just finished an event) and I am pretty sure I will have to wait for quite a while before I can hope to have the problem fixed, if it will ever be fixed.
My experience with Sony Xperia P is extremely bad, I was kind of a Sony fan before, so I chose Xperia over galaxy and iphone for my first smartphone, but the first update left my phone bricked for 2 days before I can get the update service to fix it, and this update basically ruined my little enjoyment time and wasted me a few hours trying to backup and reinstall.
PC Companion sucks, it is so unstable and all the functions it claimed to have are stupid. the Update service should be the problem onboard instead, though I don't think that will help to solve my current problem as well.
And yes, I am cheap enough that I have to stick with this phone for quite a while, this is not a cheap phone, but if I ever get the chance to switch to another brand, I will NOT hesitate. And if the phone prompt me to update ever again, chances are I will not do so unless it is to fix my problems. But this only shows that Sony did not test their products before pushing the update.
On the bright side, this is getting me off the addiction to these apps.
Sony staff, if any of you see this, please seriously consider making a program that will easily restore previous settings, and at least minimize the frustration and confusion of regular normal users and let people choose their preferred/stable version.
Anyone know a quick method(like changing the settings) to end these problems? Or do I really have to go find the support service to reset it back to 2.37, and reinstall all the apps again?
Thank you for enduring my grumpy muttering.
I can understand you but unfortunately we're not able to make new firmware versions based on all games available on Google Play store and be sure that the phone is compatible with all of them. This is not something new. Every time a new firmware version comes out some app's get compatibility problems. This is up to the application developer to optimize.
No, I am not talking about making sure everything is compatible, I am talking about an official method to fix it and restore to a workable version.
If you know this happens everytime, it would be wise to make a restore function everytime so people will be less mad about a one way ticket to failure.
And the PC conpanion keep failing problem should be addressed as well.
This is just a really simple risk management method, a simple "restore to previous working version" program will and should work.
