I've bought a new Z3C at SONY repair service for replace a too damaged one,the phone has this problem, randomly all sensors don't work (Compass,accelorometer,gyroscope,light,proximity..) ,after a power-off or restart they works until a new locking that occurs hour or seconds after restarting or power-on,the pressure sensor usually doesn't work after a restart, and the purposed app shows a warning message like "you don't have a pressure sensor",thinking about a SW issue i wait for an update, and yesterday i "software repair" the phone by "Xperia Companion",after all sensors (Pressure else!!) works until the new lock....
Thank You, Marco
PS Sorry for my English...
Hello @Tecnico66,
Welcome to the community!
I'm sorry to hear about your Xperia Z3 Compact.
In what app is it that you receive the message "you don't have a pressure sensor"? For how long has this been happening?
You mention that these sensors stop working after a while, do you mean that they stop working as soon as you lock your phone after a reboot? Are you able to recreate this behaviour if you reboot your phone to safe mode?
When you performed the software repair, did you restore any backup or reinstall any apps before checking if your phone still experienced this behaviour? If so, try performing a factory data reset without restoring any personal data. Is this still occurring?
Let me know how it goes!
I used the app "Barometer Altimeter DashClock" by Aleksander Ciepiela, this app on my old Z3C worked fine, the old one was broken on the 8 August 2016 (Before the last OS update),and i bought the new one on 15 September (After the last OS update).I better explain you the problem, when sensor lock the presure reading is in "full scale",then after a power-on i riceve a message from the app like "you have'nt a pressure sensor, this app is useless, uninstall it" then i uninstall the app,for an HW checking i install the app "Z-Device Test" and in the menu' the "Pressure sensor" icon is banned,i check SO internal test and there is no pressure sensor entry. The problem appears around the end of September, before all seems to works fine.Yesterday i "SW repair" the phone and i restore my backup ,and check the sensor by "Z-device Test" it works fine showing "1024mBar" reading and response to heigh changing (1 meter!!),then i reinstall the barometer app and seems to work fine, after a while the problem appears again. Some time ago i try "factory data reset" i restore the personal data but was useless..i never try "safe mode"...
Thank You
...i try in "safe mode" Z-Dedvice doesn't see the pressure sensor..
...very strange,i switch in "safe mode" and the sensor doesn't work,i switched back to "normal mode" and the sensor works...i don't install the barometer app and watch what appens in the next time...
...the problem is still here, now i switch to "safe mode" and then to "normal mode" but is unsuccessfull...
I see, thanks for the update.
Have you tried to reset or perform a software repair and check the sensors before restoring any data or installing any apps? If not I would suggest you try that next.
Should the sensors still not work as intended I would advise you to have your phone sent for repairs at one of our authorized service centres. Warranty and service procedures can differ from market to market, I recommend that you contact your Local support for further information on how to proceed with sending in your phone.
Keep me updated!
