Hi there
Does anyone know if its possible to add songs to the various SenseMe channels?
I have almost 4000 songs on my phone but only about 600 are assigned to SenseMe channels.
It would be good if I could expand the song selection in each channel.
MediaGo will automatically generate SenseMe data for any compatible music files added to its database.
Any songs over ( I think) 10 mins long will not be allocated data.
Once your libray has been updated you can transfer your chosen files or playlists to your phone and the Wlakman app will recognise the SenseMe data contained within your music files.
thank you Gandalf
Do you mean that in ordr for SenseMe to work i need to use Media Go to transfer music to my phone?
I tend just to transfer it mauually using windows explorer.
I'm assuming that the SenseMe data is applied to the mp3 tag - and, if so, once MediaGo has assigned the tag, you should be able to transfer files through any method and have the data read by any compatible player.
If the SenseMe data is applied only through transfer via MediaGo then obviously the above would not apply.
Maybe you could try both methods and post back with the results?
Hi Gandalf
what you are saying makes sense as the only tracks which appear in the SenseMe channels are old ones which were on my old W995 and originally loaded via MediaGo.
As i said I have about 4000 tracks on my 32GB memory card, so in order to apply senseme data would i have to transfer them to a memory card via media go? that would take hours, right?
Well - the transfer wouldn't take that long - what will take time is for the SenseMe data to be generated.
It's really, really slow.
You'll have to transfer the files from your phone to you PC, import into MediaGo and then let it run in the background.
You're probably looking at a day or so for the data to be generated!
Still, at least you'll only have o do it once
great. that's really helpful Gandalf.
i just wish there was a way for the phone to do it via the walkman app!
just had a lok on t'internet and found this:
You can categorize your music using the SensMe channels on your Sony Xperia Z. The SensMe™ channels application helps you arrange your music by mood and tempo. SensMe™ groups all your tracks into several categories, or channels, so you can select music that matches your mood or suits the time of day.
Note: This application requires a mobile or Wi-Fi® network connection.
Sounds good (pun intended).
Definitely a Wi-fi job though - and even then - with that many files - I think your phone would thank you if you off loaded the work onto your PC!
just trying it now on the phone.
phone is about 400 tracks into 2300 unclassified tracks. must be sweating!
