i've had my phone for a year now, and the flip top is wobbly (it has a crack in the join where the keypad and screen is attatched), and when i insert headphones unless i am always holding the the (thing that connects phone to headphones) in, there is only bass coming through the headphones (i have tried with multiple headphonese and the result is the same). the outside of the phone is also very badly scratched, but i expected this because it is a t707 and very shiny top. are these common through sony ericsson phones- great graphocs, but dont last for ages? or have i just dropped it too many times?

Hi Kristy,

It's difficult to say, so I'll share some of my thoughts and experiences with you.

I really do believe we have some of the best quality control procedures to make sure you get the best device possible. It's really something I feel strongly about since I represent our brand online and strive to be transparent and honest. That being said of course things can crop up, which is why we (and all other companies) offer customer service and support.

Concerning the issues with your specific Sony Ericsson T707, all the issues you described are things that have happened to people I've seen use the phone for a long period of time.

The crack at the hinge can happen to any flip-style phone, it's a sort of inherent situation with flip phones.

The "FastPort" connector was used on a majority of our devices, we have since moved on to the micro-USB standard, and I've used devices for years without issue. On the other hand, I've had colleagues who pull the connector (for the headset, charger or USB cable) out of the phone straight, instead of at an angle. Pulling it out straight stresses the connector and can make it loose, and of course, the more often you are connecting/disconnecting, the quicker this can happen.

As for the scratches, again, it can come with the territory. I personally love the T707 in black and after a few drops, it really can make a difference. The shine on the cover is great to show off, but it is susceptible to wear and tear.

Overall, I think it was just a standard experience you had. I really hope if possible your next phone can be a Sony Ericsson and that maybe you reply to this and let me know what you choose!

Thanks for your time!
