Hi there.
I have a Sony Xperia Z3 with the latest software update (Android 6.0.1) and since the update I have a problem trying to transfer files to the SD Card.
I have file manager apps that can see the SD Card. I have any apps which have been transferred to the SD Card that operate correctly. I have a lot of data on the SD card which is viewable, including a range of Podcasts which are all playable through my Podcast app.
However, I cannot launch a file manager app and transfer a file to the SD Card as it tells me the permissions are not set. The apps then tell me I have to select "Show SD Card" to display it in their selection menus, the SD Card is always visible, and then when I navigate to the SD Card a permission required pop-up will appear through Android and ask me to accept - this *never* happens and I am left to browse the SD Card but not write anything to it.
How can I get this permission request to appear so that I can let my file manager apps write to the SD Card again?
Settings > apps > file manager ( you might want to use a file commander) > memory > clear data > try again.
