Hello!
I had a recent update for my Xperia J, and ever since then, the phone refuses to read/accept my SD card. Earlier, the phone displayed no issues with the same card. The SD card was never removed during the update nor had the phone been dropped. It's very unlikely that the card has been damaged, but I frequently recieve messages on the Notifications bars stating "SD card has been dismounted" or "SD card has been damaged. Please remove the card." I can't seem the understand what the possible reasons could be, but I understand that it's not a hardware malfunction. The SD card is by a brand called Apacer, I'm not entirely sure if it's a trustworthy brand, but there had been no issues with this prior to the update. It's a 16 GB card, and most of my music and pictures and larger apps are on it. Please help. I would be grateful for any suggestions.
Thank you very much.
Have a nice day!
- Remove the microsd card and connect it to a PC/Laptop
- Cut all the files
- Make a deep format using NTFS file system
- Replug the memory card in the phone
- Reboot the phone.
Thank you very much for your help. I realized it was a problem with the card, so I trashed that one. I am using a new one now, and things seem to be working great. Thank you again. Much appreciated!
