SD card not locking in

Big branded Sony fan. Currently my wife and I have Z2's, but I picked up an Ultra (preowned) to try for compact tablet value while at gym on treadmill. The SD card will not stay locked in. Spring works and card is read when manually pushed in all the way. Just will not stay in no matter what. Ruined a cheap SD card trying so much. Spray compressed air into it, to no avail. Is there an identified issue? Anyone know what could be the issue? Repair estimate? Thank you!
