sd card in xperia z1

can i move apps to sd card, my phone storage is full. is sd card designed only to store pics and music. any new fix in software 2014?

For android 4.0 and up, it's design for using SD card (external storage) as a storage for media files such as photo, music and movie only. All (core) application must install to internal storage, it up to application on its own to decide to create temporally files on external storage NOT a user.

As a result, answer is CAN NOT, you can not install the (core)app or move it to SD card on the Android 4.0 and up.

ITBoys is right, You can not move apps to SD card.
The only way is to root your phone, but rooting will void your warranty.

Perhaps this option for moving apps from internal storage to SD card will be available in upcoming software updates.
