Scrolling changes brightness

I have noticed this weird thing some time ago, first was unsure, but now clear it's some problem.

Example: scrolling an app's page in Google Play, the brightness changes, and no, it's not the sensor doing it, I've tried with automatic brightness off. More precisely: App page > start scrolling down somewhat slowly > since the header stays in absolute position, it sure is not scrolling conent being different color > around halfway the conents flash bright. When scrolling around that position where it happens, very slowly, it's visibly changing.

Not just in Google Play.

Has anyone experienced such?

PS: Restore did not solve.

Hi,

I would suggest that you try to boot your phone into safe mode to see if the problem may be related to any 3rd party app that you have installed in your phone:

Tried, but same thing. I don't have random apps installed anyway.

It's not out-of-range annoying, just frustrating. Happens in Chrome too. When scrolling, sometimes at some point of the page, it flashes somewhat brighter than normal. But then it's always at that same point, as in I can scroll back around.

I'm not able to replicate this behavior. You could try to repair/reinstall the phone software using PC Companion:

http://www.sonymobile.com/update

In PC Companion, press start on Support Zone > Start on Update the phone/tablet software > Press the blue link that says "Repair phone/tablet".

Before repairing the software in your device you may want to backup your information first. Check out this topic for more information on how to:

Perhaps wasn't clear in my original post, 'PS: Restore did not solve.' was referring to repair not doing anything to solve it.

This is not since the newest firmware either. But it's not with all apps, so guess it's software (don't know how though). Not making me climb the wall, but still it's an imperfection.

it's the actual display that makes this happen ,you have to notice that when there are white backgrounds the brighness of the screen actually tends to increase regardless of the brightness settings ,i did to a factory repair through pc companion and also did a fresh install though service center.they don't even have the answer for it,they say it's not an issue it's the way the phone's disaply works.
