Screen wont sleep completely

I started noticing today that my phone screen doesn't turn off completely when I try to put the phone on stand by. It goes blank but there is a dim light on. Does this consume battery and how do I fix it?

Can you check if the same occurs in safe mode?

Did you ever manage to fix this problem? My phone has just starting doing this. I've tried safe mode and it's not fixed it. I'm hoping you managed to sort something out that you can share.
