screen turning off

hello, everytime i receive/make a phone call on my phone the screen comes on  straight away then turns off when you put it up to your ears. this is very frustrating when you want to end the call or press numbers i.e: when calling 101 then you have to press those numbers to delete etc. is there somewhere or something i have to do to fix this problem please

This is due to the proximity sensor and is designed to prevent you pressing buttons with your face whilst on a call. You will still be able to bring it back out of standby by tapping the power button as per normal.

That's the way its supposed to work, as soon as you move the phone away from your ear the screen should turn back on
