screen remains off

hi all,

A few days back the weirdest thing happened. I have used my r800i in the morning and it worked just fine. I've spend some time on facebook and checked a little 9gag. I went out for breakfast and left my phone on the nightstand. When i came back the screen did not turn on, I thought it was frozen so I pulled out the battery and reinserted it. I turned on the phone, felt it vibrate but nothing else happened. the screen remained black. Now I don't know what to do.

when I plug in the charger cable nothing happens,no orange or green led light.

when i plug it in my pc i get a notification that something has connected,but when i try to open the sd card drive it gives me an error saying it's not accessible.

What could this be? and more importantly, how can i fix it?

This could be a software glitch within the handset, I suggest downloading the Update Service and re installing the software. The Update Service will let you perform a re install of software while the handset is turned off so you will not have any issued performing this task.

thank you very much for the  answer. i have another problem now though. when i plugged in my phone to my PC today to try the update service i got a permanent red led, it didn't do anything and didn't recognise my phone. so i was unable to update. now whenever i press the powerbutton i get a blinking red led light 3X. what does this mean?

Can you confirm that when you plug the device in to the USB that you just get a Red LED? if this is the case it means the handset is flat and needs to charge before you can perform the update on the device.

Hi, I'm also facing the same problem with 3raser, I've tried the solution provided by Jake-Sony Xperia Support but my phone is still having this problem. I've never dropped my phone before and etc, the phone was left on my table and it started behaving this way after I tried to unlock my phone. Please help.

hi. i am also having the same problem with my Experia Play. When i turn my phone on,it vibrates and the screen stays black,however,i am recieving notifications and can still recieve calls but the screen just stays black. i haven't dropped it,the phone stays in its case and i also have the charging dock so i'm puzzled.

Only had the phone a couple of months and am raging as i was warned by a few people b4 i sold my Iphone 4 to buy this that they were dodgy.

Am a big fan of Sony products but this has really pissed me off!!:smileyangry:

Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated.
