the screen protector that came with my st15i has done it's job and needs replacing.
can anyone recommend an exact replacement - ?
ones i've looked at on ebay or amazon don't seem to cover the entire front or have the "D" cutouts at each end like the original.
thanks
The original protection that comes in the box are on some markets sold separately. Call your local Sony support office and see if they have any such information.

I guess any screen protector made for capacitive displays will work though. Just make sure it doesn't cover the sensor at top as this might cause some trouble.

There's no need actually for a screen protector. The screen is mineral glass, scratch proof. My Xperia Mini didn't have a protector when I bought it, and after 6 months of use there's not a single sign of scratch on its screen.
BilKos is right. There is no need for screen cover as it won't get a scratch with normal use
ok thanks to all for replying, i didnlt get email notifications of replies even though it's on ...
@markus I've emailed support to see if I can get originals here in the UK
@BilKos, james98913003 - if the screen doesn't need a protector, how come SE supply one in the box?
just wondering ...
best wishes
The mineral glass itself is scratch resistant but the pre-installed shatterproof film isn't, and actually scratches quite easily, hence it's a good idea to also apply the screen protector that comes in the box, which does a better job of protecting from scratches.
you don't have to apply it because it comes with one pre-installed, if you apply it then you will be adding a second film to the phone
thus decreasing the digitizer efficiency
pdh, in the OP are you referring to the screen protector that came in the box or the pre-installed shatterproof film (the one that's a pain to get off)?
in some markets you get 2 one that it's pre-installed on your phone and an extra one, they are the same film.
From my experience the shatterproof film is quite thick when compared to the bundled screen protector, it also covers the front light sensor and seems to be applied with some sort of strong adhesive as opposed to the non adhesive one bundled in the box. In my opinion it scratches more easily than the bundled screen protector, but then again it can still be replaced with something decent when it does gets all scratched up. My understanding is that this layer isn't designed to be removed and protects the screen from shattering/protects the digitizer from getting damaged if it does shatter.
