screen not rotating

ive got a xperia z2 and it was working fine since ive had it for a few days but suddenly its stopped rotating. ive tried reparing it with pc comanion but nothing is working

Have you enabled auto rotation?

yes ive tired toggling it on and off and nothing works still

the screen isnt rotating and ive used apps to test the gyroscope and it says its not available

I pm sending the phone back to the shop. But I noticed after doing a factory reset and restarting it on its side , the auto rotate starts working again so is this a software issue. If so will the 4.4.4 fix this.
