I have had my Xperia Z for about a month now and initially the 1-touch screen mirroring worked perfectly with my Bravia KDL-46W905A (software version PKG3.504EUA).
However it has now stopped working - when starting 1-touch mirroring via NFC between the phone and the remote, the devices detect each other almost immediately and the TV display says 'Preparing screen mirroring, please wait...' Unfortunately the phone display never appears on the TV and after a short while mirroring fails and the TV displays 'Registration failed'.
The phone is a C6603 and has recently been updated to build 10.3.1.A.0.244 and Android 4.2.2.
I'm not sure if the updates are causing this problem, or if I have accidentally messed up some settings, but screen mirroring worked without issue before the update.
Please help as this problem is extremely frustrating!
Thanks,
That makes us two with the same problem.
I have exactly the same Bravia model and also an Xperia Z and, like you, the screen mirroring function stopped working after the 4.2.2 update. I'm pretty sure it has to do with that as it was working fine before the update...
Sony, can you please fix that? Maybe a software update for the Bravia TV to recognize the phone again?
I tried this here with a KDL-40W905A but for me it works without any problems with the latest firmware in the phone (10.3.1.A.0.244).
First make sure that the TV is updated to the latest firmware and if that doesn't help, try making a repair of the phones software using PC Companion.
