screen lock when on a call?

Hi. Is there any way to set the screen to lock when on a call?
Every time I'm talking, the quick settings and main settings open and I end up changing them. I've turned on/off mobile data,, dialled another number while on a call, location, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, flashlight, deleted apps etc. My screen sensitivity is set to lowest. Thanks for any help.

When you make a call,I am not sure the device will lock itself. You can try to press power button once but not sure. When you are called,it is locked. I have Z1 and set it to display timeout (sleep) on 30 seconds and automatically lock (5 seconds after sleep).

Hi dubtike,

Welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.

When you are on a call, the Proximity sensor should kick in and blank out the screen while it is against your ear, if this is not happening then you may have some third party software causing the proximity to not work correctly.

Try booting the device in to Safemode and see if the issue continues.

Thanks for your help. I have the timeout and lock settings as short as possible. I'll change the end call settings and try that Alex.
I turned on safe mode and made two calls, the first call nothing opened. The second call, my messages opened. I could feel the buzz as it was going into the menus

You can test your Proximity Sensor by dialling *#*#7378423#*#* & going into Service Tests then scroll down to Proximity switch :smileysmileythumbsup:

Test it & let us know......

I've tested the proximity switch.
it comes up with proximity switch off. Then when I cover it with my hand, it beeps and buzzes then the notification bar slides open. Even if I'm not actually touching the screen. I'm going to try that link next. Thanks

I've just switched off the 'smart backlight control'
Made 3 calls and no menus opening 😁
Fingers crossed it stays this way
Thanks for all your help, you've been great 👍
