screen cracked after 3 days

hi Ive just upgraded to a z3 after two years of having a z. The screen has cracked in several places when it was in my hand bag not being used. I've booked a repair through Sony but researching online tells me that I will be charged handsomely for this. My old phone had a tough screen and survived being dropped many times. Have the newer phones just got rubbish screens?

The Xperia Z and Xperia Z1 had a shatter proof/resistant screen protector, however people complained about many scratches even by only putting it in your pocket without sand/keys ect..

Sony took off screen protector,  thats why even the "tempered glass" wont be as tough as the z and z1's glasses.

I have the same problem, cracked screen after 3 days of use...

I assume Sony will never take any responsability for producing an extremly frigile product so I guess i just have pay thge €150 to exchange the screen.

How long will it last next time...?

They won't I'm afraid. I've been using my replacement a Samsung galaxy s5 and it's been dropped and used normally with no problems. Vodafone agreed to let me return my cracked z3. Good luck

Don't drop the phone and/or use a protective case.

I still don't understand the phone manufatcuring companies, first they put a lot of effort in designing sleek and nice looking phones which we consumers have to put covers on to be ablwe to use them as a normal every day product.

Whay not make them durable from start so we don't have to hide our phones.

As it is today you can't tell one phone frpm the other as tehy all look the same with the covers...

That's debatable, I think Xperias are durable, but of course others might disagree others might agree.

I dropped my phone before I managed to plug in my SIM-card. It cracked and the screen lost the touch.. Thing. So all I could do was to light up the screen and take photos using the button on the side. I cried and now I await it to be fixed and to get it back. It cracked from a 50 cm fall. Slippery little basterd.
