I recenty recieved my beautiful new Sony Xperia Z1 to be bitterly disapointed. Not more the 10 minutes of having it out of the box and on charge I was navigating the phone to get used to the different layout to that of my iPhone, the screen went blank, phone was none responsive. I could just make out the screen, it was on the home screen and when touching apps, they loaded but could not see them (like the back lighting was just not acitvating).
I reset the phone by pressing and holding the power and volume buttons, the phone took an incredibly long time to re-boot, 5 or so minutes.
After this I recieved my very first phone call where the screen did not lock so my face was activating the screen and pressing buttons ultimately ending the call. After this call ended, the screen when blank AGAIN. Yet another reset in on a few hours of having the phone.
Later that night I decided to sync 3gig of music using Media Go. I started the sync at 9pm and it was still syncing at midday the following day! Yes, 15 hours...... I could see that the phone had synced by Media Go was updating (presumably SensMe so it could create SensMe playlists. I have a 3.2ghz duel core intel processor, so by no means is my PC slow. My iPhone would sync 50gig of music in about an hour.
After all this I decided to bite the bulley and do a re-install of the software knowing very well I'd have to download all my apps again and sync contacts etc again. The phone worked reasonable well for the remainder of the week, very laggy in the simplest of applications sometimes (txt messages).
We now come to Monday, had the phone for 4 days and thinking the re-install had fixed these issues. I use facebook and make a post, press the home key and the phone re-boots.
Right now as I type this message the swipe keypad isn't working, just bring you complete rubbish, it's unusable and have to re-boot the phone.
I'm very disappoint that I decided to leave apple to give andriod and Sony a go. Are these usual features of the phone? After searching the net I am finding these exact issues everywhere.
