Just bought my xperia x8 yesterday and was checking the caculator's scientific functions. It was giving a wrong figure. sin45, should be equal to 0.70710... but for my xperia scientific calculator function its sin45 = 0.8509035. Is there any specific encoding procedure for this function?...

There's nothing wrong with the calculator: It's simply doing the calculation in a different mode, so that the 0.707.. value is obtained when it's in DEG mode, whereas the 0.850.. value when it's in RAD mode. You should be able to change the Mode of the scientific calculator on your phone.
Hope this helps.
