Hi,
When trying to save numbers to my SIM rather than phone, they seem to disappear and don't come up in my contacts. If people text me it tells me its them but I can't search for them. Am I missing something obvious or not?

The phone does not display the contacts from the SIM at all. You can only copy them from the SIM not have the displayed in your default contact list.
