rooting/unrooting

what is rooting and do i need to root or unroot my xperia go even if it has been updated to the latest system version android 4.1.2.

and i would like to know more about on rooting / unrooting and how it does affect the system

Dax_......rooting is allowing you to access your phones system files.....usually if you root and want to unroot....you have to reflash your phone.......now why we need root? For me it's 2 important points....first bloatware (this are apps that are pre-installed with your phone yet you don't need them and are eating up RAM, with root you could freeze or remove them completely.......second save games..ususally we played games withs lot of levels....lets say you are about to finish the game and something went wrong with your phone and you have to do a factory reset......whoa all your save games will be deleted....but with root you can backup apps with their data or saved games that allow you to restore it after doing factory reet without starting from the beginning.............hope this will help you with your question...........

note: on step 10


Before flash the room do a factory reset


mount sytem then flash JB.Zip

I did not really understand a lot of what they were trying to do. Slightly_smiling_Face

so for now, root at your own risk..

I will wait for easier steps of rooting.
