Ringtone volume and text notification problem

Phone seems to randomly revert to very low volume for the ringtone and text notification resulting in constant missed calls and texts as I can't hear them.  This happens regardless of how I set the volume settings.  If I restart the phone it is OK for a little while then the volume settings cvhange again.  This has been since updating to latest software (4.4 kitkat?).  I either need a fix for this or to find a way to reverty to previous phone software (as this worked fine - lesson learned!!).  Can't see how to easily revert to previous version of of software (prior to latest update) although, during update I'm sure I saw a message that said I could revert at some point.  Please can anyone suggest a propper fix?  Many thanks

Are you on .681 or .757?Because 757 is supposed to fix ringtone issue.

android  version 4.4.2.  oin the 'about phone' I can see a build number that ends in 0.681 but thought that relates to the phone itself rather than the OS..?

No,that is the firmware version.You should keep checking with PC companion and sony update service,see if you get 757.

It will be solved this week aparently (hopefully)... spoken with Sony, my phone was through O2 and they have not yet approved the patch that will (allegedly) solve the problem.  Sony say they have released the update and it is available to others, but not yet to O2 customers.  ... so am hoping to have a (almost new and quite expensive) working phone end of week.:smileyplain:
