Incoming call tones with the stock sony headsets connected allows sounds to come through from both the headset AND the main speakers of the phone itself. Pressing the volume rocker to shift call tone volumes up and down also shows the same defects involving individual tone output from both the phone speakers and the headset.
I've been using the same headset since when i first got the phone, which is the set that came with the phone itself.
Am pretty confident that there were no physical damages to the headset itself.
Am nearly 100% positive that this started since the ICS upgrade.
Was listening to music during one of my lectures and had a call come through, with the ringtone volume set up high, caused quite an embarassing stir as you can imagine.
I could not find any solutions through the phone settings.
Please help.
I don't think this is a bug actually, its just a change in ICS. When your phone has sound on and you have headphones plugged in, the phone will play ringtone through both the phone and headphones. I guess this is because not everyone has their headphones in their ears all the time, and you should still be able to hear your phone no matter what. When the phone is set to vibrate, the phone will not play ringtone, just the headphones. The volume down will silence the ringtone in any mode, headphones plugged in or not.
