Hi. I recently bought an Xperia L which was working all fine in the beginning but for the past 2 days It has been giving this issue of 'Restricted Access Changed'. The sim sometimes out of the blue stops working saying 'No sim card available' and 'Restricted Access Changed'. In order to get rid of this, I switch off my phone, reinsert sim, restart it and then it starts to work fine.
Is this an issue with the phone or my sim? My sim does not support 3g and I still use 2g network. Perhaps changing the Network mode to 'GSM only' would help? I would like to know more about this 'Restricted Access Changed' issue. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
do you have a SIM card lock? it might be a faulty SIM card.
No I don't have a sim card lock. and yes it could be a possibility that it's a faulty sim card because I've been using it for about 6-7 years now and it looks like this. Will get a new one. I hope the issue doesn't occur then. Thanks for the reply.
that is the problem, the SIM card is way too old and it even looks worn out
Hey. I got a new sim card but I guess that wasn't the problem. Because the problem still occurred. I figured when I keep the Network Mode to' GSM only' it works fine. But when it's set to 'WCDMA (preferred)/GSM' that's when the problem usually happens. So I just keep my Network Mode to 'GSM only' . Works fine that way.
So there's nothing really wrong with my phone right? I mean Is this supposed to be a network issue?
most likely there's nothing wrong with your phone
thanks a lot!
