Im sony xperia Z. User i have updated to lolipop tooo. But not supported to sinhala unicode as expected. Sinhala is main language in Sri Lanka and several mobiles support it like Samsung, Nokia, Nexus. google also provide several services in sinhala (traslate, search, transliteration).
we believe sony is as much reputed and find productive company will support Sri Lanka local languages (Sinhala)

no need to posting here. don't expect anything from this talk.

Go to Support center http://support.sonymobile.com/global-en/ and select your phone. then selct contact us in the bottom. Select US-English or UK-English. (I got to know we have to contact Singapore team, but they have never replied to my any inqury yet. So, try to use the countries mentioned, )

Select other in the Email option. (if you prefer , use chat sessions as well.

Fill the recommnded fields with product name and every needed information. Don't fill the city field, coz it will direct to the country and the qurey will be in pool without any response, only the automated reply will come.

Keep asking the status once you received your case number.

Shall we do as a team. Everyone would fill the form.

I found the sinhala font NotoSansSinhala-Bold.ttf and NotoSansSinhala-Regular.ttf fonts removed by the Sony team. but the xml file for config has the entry for it. So, installing the font will solve the problem. So, please mention that two fonts were missing.

one reply got from US team.

Dear Roshan,

Thank you for contacting Sony Xperia™ Online Support.

Sorry for the delay in response of this message. We are happy to assist you. In regards to your request we are sorry that your device is missing these fonts however, if this features are missing is because your device was not manufactured for your region hence this may not be included. You can try to download a third party app from Google play that may do the work for you. Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause you.

If you require more information, or have any other questions, please visit www.sonymobile.com or call us at 1-866-766-9374.

They could have easily do this. Whey they are removing built-in support.

By last email sent by sony says

We apologise for the removal of the Shinhala language from the new software update. We take all customer feedback about the new Android update into account and all will be looked at when deciding new features which may be included in future updates.

There may be an update to include the Shinhala language back in in a furture update but we would be unable to confirm this at this time.

We apologise for the inconvenience this has caused

So, be wise and contact sony without crying here. Nothing will happen if everyone cry here. Try to file a case using sony contact us. It will send to the developers.

If Sony does not care Sinhalese, we should switch to some other brand.

Its very difficult to browse Facebook or other Web browsers.totally dissepointed. We hope soon as possible Sony will solve this issue. Otherwise We have to trust another brand.
