please can somebody tell me what my device name is as i am trying to send my phone in for repair. i have a sony xperia z2 and i thought that was the name but its not

Open Settings then About phone then you'll see model name or under one of the flaps on the side is a pull out tab which will also have your model number on should you be unable to switch on your phone

cant my phone has been dropped and the touch screen wont work at all

See this here regarding IMEI number - The model number will be on this tab also something like D65XX where XX could be 03 but this depends on the exact model number you have

Welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.

This can also be found on the Box the handset came with, it also in most cases would be on the Proof of purchase. 

otherwise, contact Sony Mobile and Supply them your IMEI number, they will be able to provide the model number.
