Removing predictive text

Hi all

Newbie with a xperia ray this weekend having had samsungs for the last 4 years and having fun with it but basic question I know but can you change from predictive text when doing sms messaging?

open your messaging app, once the keyboard shows up -> tap on the wrench icon -> text input settings -> word suggestions
