The reason for my message was to make a query on the operation of Android 5.0 LOLIPOP
What happens is that the update came to my cell last Tuesday and happily settled, but since then the cell failed and refused to turn over
At first lasted a while on and off, there was only work if plugged in, and ultimately did not pass the start to turn the Xperia, he went off and returned to the logo appear, I had to force shutdown the auxiliary button the back of the cell
Not to do with my problem, I wish they could give me an answer, I have no access to it in Sony PC, so I could not do a backup or restore time cell
i am also having this problem with my zl only rebooting to the point where the sony logo shows up and turns off, sometimes the battery indicator will show it to be almost dead but when its plugged into the original charger and turned off it says its full
My xperia zl too shows the same problem.
But the difference is that intially after update it worked well but after 5 hours it started automatically shutting down then restarted with battery about 15% (but before shutdown it was 80%).i think its a kind of battery bug.and now it is continuing the restarting process.

Hi Richard.
Kindly help me resolve the same problem in ZL post the Lollipop update.
I need help on this badly.
PS: I was really excited on the update but Sony screwed my phone.
Naman
Sorry to hear that you also have issues after the update.
I've checked several ZL units here with Lollipop but i'm afraid i can't can't find any issue with them.
Did the software repair help?
Could all of you please let me know if you have tried doing a repair of the phones software using PC Companion? Did the repair finish without errors? Does the software repair solve the issue?
Hard to say for sure what could cause this but it may perhaps be an issue with the battery calibration. If so, a software repair should help.
when i took my phone to sony customer service centre, they checked it and found it as a battery problem and not a software problem. And they explained that this phone has the only option to be upgraded to new phone, as sony has stopped its repair in india. It pissed me off my mind, which made me to take a decision not to recommend sony to any others.OR else sony should deeply study the battery issue and give a repair
@Rickard
my phone was repaired and the repair compled without errors in PCC, but the reboot loop continues.
For all the people facing the same issue go to page 14 if you don't want to read all texts and just want a solution
I'll repeat it here Rickard, as you seemed to have missed what I did ...
Sunday - last edited Sunday
@rickard: your procedure didn't work.
This is what I did...
Try until your phone starts while plugged in with the original charger. Save ALL internal data to the SD-card.
Remove SD-card and SIM.
Plug the rebooting Sony in with the original charger. While plugged in, use the OFF button hidden under the lid at the back. Press it until the phone vibrates once and then vibrates three times.
Disconnect and follow Richard's procedure
"So, start the repair guide in PC Companion but do not connect your phone. When you reach the step where it asks you to turn off the phone and connect it with volume down pressed, first hold on/off and volume up for 10 seconds to force a shutdown, then hold volume down and connect it to your PC."
PC companion starts the repair.
Restarting didn't work afterwards, so I retried the procedure I did before (open lid while plugged in, press OFF until it vibrated three times). Then I let it rest for a minute and restarted while still connected with the original charger connected. The first time it didn't work, so retried the "OFF" procedure and the second effort, the Android rebooted. It took a while (green-blue screen with waves), made a sound at one moment and after a few minutes the initial procedure of a new initialised %, while the battery was at phone started. Then it worked, but the battery indicator was at 27%, while it was 99% full. I let it charge util it was full according to the phone, unplugged it, and shut down. That went too quick and restarting didn't work anymore. Plugged it in again and then it restarted, but the battery level was again at 25%.
So what I would conclude: the Lollipop version has a bug in it that sets the battery level at 25% for Xperia ZL, making the phone software (protecting the battery) to shut down. When the system is completely reset by PCC, it works, the second time the bug takes hold. Maybe the initial setting for the variable of the batterylevel is 25%, triggering a shutdown before the real battery level is read by the system. Suggestion for fix: set variable for batterylevel at 50% during startup, reading the real level ASAP and replace the variable with the real value.
Additional info: there was no battery issue what so ever before the upgrade. Battery still works fine (when charging it says full, doesn't loose charge or anything). Problem is Lollipop software
My phone has been dead since 2 weeks! **bleep**?
In the mean time I read about someone who bought a phone in the US and moved to Brazil. Same problem with help ... being none available. I bought mine (in local official shop!) in Taiwan, unknown the ZL wasn't available in the country I live in right now (being Belgium). With big problems used the chat on German website (they sold ZL), but just PCC and problem is still there (as written above).
Can PCC reinstall Kitkat (how to ??) - then I would maybe have a working phone again ... Or kick some guys into high gear to solve the regularly occuring issue with their Lollipop update!
Please respond (leave e-mail if you dare :-p) ....
Same problem here
Very disappointed!
Could a downgrade help? If yes how to do this the best way?
