Ray will not connect to my computer.

Hello,

I have been having a few problems with my ray ever since i got it. I have been having a few problems with connecting it to a computer using either MTP or MSC. I have sent a message to sony about this problem and they asked me to turn off all my firewalls and anti viruses on my computer and to then try again but then no luck. After some time the mini usb port wasnt working at all and i was sent a new one. As soon as i got it i tried to connect it to my computer but no luck it wasn't picking it up. I also tried it on my laptop and on my mac but yet again nothing worked. Im not sure what im supposed to do now as i want to update my phone to Ice Cream and the updating app on the phone isn't allowing me to do it. What should i do?

Try restarting the phone while it's connected to the PC and/or rebooting the PC while it's connected to the phone.

Forgot to ask, have you already downloaded PC companion and/or the Update service to your PC? Another option is to run the PC in safe mode.

Ok il try doing that now and yes i have the latest version of pc companions on both my computers and the mac version on my mac

Ok iv tried restarting the computer with it pluged and iv also tried it in saftey mode but yet no luck 😕 have you got any more suggestions?

First try using another USB cable.

Still won't connect? (Using MTP mode) Try clearing data for the MTPapp in the phone.

Menu > Settings > Applications > Manage applications > All > MTPapp > Clear data.

I tried plugging it in using a diffrent USB cable but no luck. I also deleted the MTPapp's data but yet it still won't connect to my computer. The red light is on showing that it is recharging but its not being picked up by the computer.

I suggest you try it on a different PC altogether, just to test the possibility that it's an issue related to the PCs that you have already tried. Alternatively, you can also try connecting to the PC through a different user account, or create a new one, and see if that works.

Iv just tried it on my laptop yet no luck and i have also tried a diffrent account on both computers iv also tried using a standered account and that hasn't worked. I know the usb cable is working as i connected my Sony Erisson Spiro to my computer using it and i could access all the files on it. What can i try now?
