Hello,
i have an Xperia S and my friend a Samsung S2 and S3.
All the phones have theoretically 1Gbyte of RAM.
When i go in Application-Memory in use i see that phone have a total memory of :
Xperia S with ICS: about 600 MByte total Ram
S2 whit ICS & S3 whit JB : about 800 MByte total Ram
Some people say that a portion of the memory is taken from the operating system.
OK.
But why in Xperia S the operating system take 400 Mbyte instead in S2 and S3 take 200Mbyte when the same operating system android?
The Xperia S RAM is 800Mbyte or 1GByte?
Down the Samsung and Xperia S screenshot
Thank you and sorry for my wrong english.
I would add, that, the Xperia p has 1gb ram and has 800mb free.
thank you arw9000.
Can you take a screenshot?
I have the same question..where is rest 400+ MB of RAM????
some people say that the missing memory (200Mbyte) is for the GPU.
It 'a lie because all smarthphones have the GPU!
Some HTC have the same GPU and there is not thi problem.
Why no person of sony answers at this questions?
There is already many discussions had happened about this.. From SONY they answered its normal, RAM & Android takes the 400 MB of RAM.. When you are comparing with Xperia P, they say that both mobiles doesn't have same technical conf..
But yes, if they optimize it, it will be real good to use Xperia S mobile..
sony can say anything, but must demonstrate that thera are 1Gbyte RAM.
How i can see this?
Now i see only 650 Mbyte
This "issue" has been up on the forums plenty of times. Please check this thread:
i have undestand that some memory is reserved for SO
but all the phone in the world reserve about 128 MByte
WHY only Xperia S reserve about 350Mbyte?
I agree with toniobr. We can understand that system keep some RAM for its own use but why Samsung is providing user about 833MB of RAM as in screenshot above whereas our Xperia giving only 635MB of RAM! The question is which special hardware in our Xperia S is using more 200MB of RAM??
