On 1 May 2012 bought my first smart phone.... the Arc S (after reading loads of good reviews) first few days it was great and i down loaded close to 200 Apps... but now the Arc S feels very very slow and sluggish... it doesn't feel like it has 1.4 ghz cpu.
When try to swipe the touch screen it takes forever....
I've checked how many Apps are running in the background and there are loads (almost every one I down loaded)... I don't think the cpu is at fault but i suspect it lack of ram...as I have 44k left....
Tried to move loads of Apps to 8gb SD card but its no use Arc S still feels slow.
When the phone get hot thats when it also really slows down.....
Overall I suspect its too many apps trying to access to little ram = slow Arc S
According to - http://www.xperiablog.net/2011/12/12/link2sd-guide-never-worry-about-internal-memory-limits-again/#m...
The ram can be sort of increased by partitioning part of the SD card...
I am an IT pro and use to using Unix and Linux at root at work....
How do I get root access on the Arc S with out wrecking my warranty ?
Also how can I permanently kill those apps running in the back ground ?
more than screw up they went cheap on internal space and ram amont other things
I didn't realized that "s c r e w" was a bad word?
Have noticed a lot of bloatware runs on startup (stuff I don't need) .... and this takes up a lot of ram.... stop them and there's around 140k or more left....
But without root non of the app stoppers can stop these things from running in the background as every time you stop them.... they restart....
Very very annoying....
Also without root you can't get an app to take snap of the who phone working and save this is as a backup......
This is very annoying..... but i guess this is a feature of gingerbread as not even Samsung SII is perfect and that still runs gingerbread.
you will be able to stop apps wit ICS and the SII already got ICS.
It has a different conotation here in England but the profanity filter can be a little over zealous at times
oh my bad
That's because cached services will allways restart.
Look at the show cached services section and kill them.
You will see they won't restart.
But after restarting your phone you will see that they are running again.
Recently I bought Sony Xperia Arc s. when I access the contact number to make a call, it takes minimum 5 sec to retrive contact numbers in every half an hour interval. very slow. some time, it gets hanging. Can any body tell me why this is happening.
use dialer one, delete call logs from the dialer and delete your SMS and MMS the more you have stored here the more your phone will slow down
i used this on my arc s
