RAM management question

Hello, can anyone explain me this?:

1. If I will go to settings --> applications --> running it will display currently apps in use. If I will kill any application from here it will show that I have more free RAM space what is correct.

2. In the same location if I will click on "Show processes from the cache" it will show the processes, but as I kill any of these processes it will decrease available amount of free RAM. Is this correct?

I am not sure, but may be you disabled a system app which will soon start itself, thereby using up some extra memory till it is back and up running in the background.
