Hi,
I have recently bought Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc S and connected with my laptop with USB cable to charge it and install PC companion. It notified me to install latest update of OS which I accepted. Installed completed successfully and I am able to use basic functionality of my mobile. However when I am trying to install Apps from play store it starts download showing me that download is inprogress and after a while it gives an error that specific application could not be downloaded due to an error (495). I have tried for different applications but getting same error everytime. Please suggest how can i fix this problem since I am a new user and don't want to do hit and trials and mess anything.
Regards
Huma

Hi Sam
I am from Pakistan and using our local GSM network i-e; Telenor Pakistan. I have tried connecting from Wifi network as well though m not sure if it got connected.
Hi Sam,
apologies for jumping into this conversation, but I have the exact same problem that Huma described. I have a Sony Ericcson Xperia Arc. I thought it may have been because the phone had been unable to update for a few months, so I ran PC Companion and updated via my computer. I still have the same error (495) appear each time I try to download anything (including updates for the phone).
I am from Australia and am on Virgin Mobile network.
Any suggestions to remedy this would be much appreciated.
Kind Regards
@Huma - In this case I am not 100% certain of the problem however it would be worth speaking further with your network regarding this issue.
@foney - In your case I do know the problem. I am aware of an issue with the Virgin network in Australia at the moment that has been ongoing for about two weeks now. This has been tested and confirmed to be affecting Virgin customers only and with a variety of manufacturers. it is likely to do with the proxy setting they use on their APN. This has been escalated through to a supervisor at their contact centre but at this stage I am not aware of a fix and could only advise that you speak directly further with them regarding this.
