"Cannot play video" message

A few days ago, my SP decided it couldn't play videos anymore. When I try to view videos I myself have recorded, I get the message "Cannot play video". Any ideas?

Try to paly the videos using MX Player. If it too fails go for a factory reset.

I got the same problem on my Xperia M2 - the video was downloaded as an MNV file - Sony's own proprietry format for Playstation. Sometimes it would play, other times it wouldn't...and I usually had to re-download the video file to try again. Very hit and miss!!

Foortunately, I downloaded the MX Player and now my MNV files play without any problem. Thanks for the advice!! 🙂
