Questions before buying Xperia XA

Hi everyone, I'm playing with the thought of buying this phone, bit there are two questions that I want to ask before:

1) Battery life, I've read that the battery of XA discharges very fast, but appearently sony released an update, which solved this problem? Is it true?

2)Speakers/Microphone. I've read that they aren't very loud, could someone who has this phone say something about that? I'm soneone who sends a lot of voice messages Will my voice be clearly and loudly recorded?

Thanks in advance

Hi,
In regards to your questions, you will probably get some reports of bad battery life, and some reports of good battery life. My own experience of XA in the short time I set up my mother in laws XA was that it has average to above average battery life for the class of phone it is, I'll be honest and say that since setting it up for her, I've had no complaints from her regarding battery life.
As for audio, the speakers are not as loud as say, a flagship, but by no means is the audio "quiet" it's perfectly acceptable levels from this phone and If you feel like you really need to find out how loud, I thoroughly recommend going into a store to listen to a display model.
The microphone inside is very good and as long as you have good signal, will be able to send clear voice audio to the recipient.
Hope this has helped.

It's fine for regular calls, text music, even for movies. Wht quicklt drains it is using cellular data for internet. I guess that goes with every phone.

It charges real quick with its Adaptive Charging. If you have a powerbank, it'll be real nice too.

I can't fault mine I charge it once a day/night and get anywhere between 3.5-5hrs screen time depending on where I am and what I'm doing at the time. I'm not a big mobile gamer but I do pretty much everything else on my xa. The camera is a massive improvement over previous midrange xperia devices both in the speed of use and the image quality. The mediatek chip is more than adequate even for most games and the speaker volume is also a huge improvement . If possible try one before you buy its what I did I have absolutely no regrets about getting the xa.
I'd also certainly take what you read in here with a pinch of salt if you want genuine opinions you'll spot the genuine replies over the whingers/trolls

As a comparison, for genuine battery life on 4g (with no greenify or background data restrictions) check screenshots on page 57 of "massive battery drain" topic.

Which screenshot?
The one that shows relatively good battery life and 4h05 screen on.
Or yours that shows 3H?
3H screen on time on 4G is good, methinks you should go look at Galaxy S6 screen times of 2.5h on 4G to appreciate how well these batteries perform.

I don't have to look at another brand (I use Sony for over 10 years) that did not market "up to 2 days" (meaning above 1 day) battery life. I compare with my former phone: Xperia SP, and I can not do "more of what I love" with XA. The way it is promoted (and following devices XZ & Xc are not!) sets the expectations very high. I will not post on this topic anymore because my "fans" will start blah blah blah again.

Hi All,

I am big lover of Sony and its products. I have the erstwhile Sony Xperia Neo V which is running perfectly till date except it gets hot during calls. Then migrated to chinese phones for two years as they were attractive when entered into India. Now would like to come back to our Sony. I would like to know if Xperia XA Ultra worth buying?

I could see lot of reviews be it in Amazon.in, Flipkart.com, here at talk.sonymobile.com complaining on various glitches and lot of bugs.

1. The MAIN ISSUE being that it gets really HOT after a continous period of usage, may be 10-15 minutes of conversation and especially while and post using camera and during charging?
2. Fast battery drain, even though i believe in sony optimization i could see many reivews pointing otherwise that this model is not for heavy users and many recommending to put in stamina mode mostly, if thats the case what's the use in buying a feature rich model?
3. Images that are the pillar stones of any sony mobile, are not upto the mark. Improper white balance and poor picture quality seems to be identified by many users who had beautiful experiences with the older Sony Phones?
4. App 2 SD card issues while transferring big files?

5. Issue of loose and plastic back covers?
6. Reduction of sturdiness unlike previous models, and may be prone to crash and break on the display screen when it falls down?

Many answers are like it would be updated in the next firmware update. But how long for the update?

Finger Print sensor and Touch To Awake options would have been good add ons, but unfortunately we dont have here for this price range.

I did not write these above to point the mistakes, but just out of confusion and LOVE after getting impressed with the bezel less display at the first sight. As for me, I am a moderate to heavy user with Gaming, Songs, Calls and FM more frequently and would like a 5.5+ inch screen.

IS IT REALLY GOOD TO BUY COZ ITS REALLY COSTLY ABOUT INR 30000. WOULD YOU PEOPLE REALLY SUGGEST THIS PHONE FOR ME? AND IF I DONT GET WORTH FOR MY PRICE I'VE TO REGRET.... KINDLY CORRECT ME IN CASE I AM WRONG BUT PLZ HELP ME OUT!!!

Thank you.
